If you want to help us to create the most awesome MMA sim put your creativity at work. Download the Comment Maker and create a few comments. Then post them in this topic. I will add those comments to the final version of UMS. As more comments we get more uniques and realistic fights we are going to see with UMS 2.

Thi scomments may not be integrated with the PBP as the fighterB could not fall to the mat after the blow. Don't worry about those part of the comments. If a fighter is dropped to the mat after a blow, the sim will comment it. Look at standingKO.txt file.

Okay, I think I went back and fixed the ones I did with version 1
These are the comments I have done so far, I will do more moves and submissions now that the editor is fixed.
AllowStandUp
%a1 steps back and allows %d2 to get back to his feet.
Bleeding
%a1 continues to bleed from that cut. It could be affecting his vision.
BreakClinch
%a1 tries to shrug his way out of the clinch. ;%a2 circles out and slips free of %d1's grip. Nice job of getting out of that position.;%d2 is determined to work from the clinch. He pummeled through and managed to retain his position.;0;0;3;9;Break Clinch;0;0;0;0;0;1;0;
CrowdBoo
Ugly atmosphere in here right now. The fans are getting restless due to the lack of action.
Exhausted
%a1 is visibly gassed. You have to wonder how hard he trained for this fight.
FullMountSub1
%a1 isolates %d1's arm and neck looking for an arm triangle;%a2 locks it in and circles towards %d2's head. It's deep and %d1 is forced to tap out!;%d1 is able to relieve the pressure on his neck and slip out of the hold.;0;0;10;8;Arm Triangle;1;1;0;0;0;0;0;
%a1 sits high on %d1's chest and pulls his leg underneath %d2's head. There's the triangle attempt!;%d1 tries to roll out, but %a1 is way ahead of him and already has the triangle locked in. It's tight and %d1 taps out!;%d2 tries to roll out. He's too quick for %a1 and manages to slip out! That was a risky move by %a2 and it cost him top position.;0;0;10;8;Triangle from Mount;1;1;0;0;0;0;10;
%a1 sits high on %d1's chest looking for some kind of submission;%a2 brings his shin across %d1's throat in a gogoplata attempt! Risky move, but it looks deep. He pulls on the back of %d2's head and forces him to tap!;%d2 tries to roll and %a1 loses his balance. That was a risky position and %a2 loses the mount. %d1 gains top control.;0;2;10;8;Mounted Gogoplata;1;1;0;0;0;0;10;
GoodShape
%a2 shows no signs of slowing down. He's in great shape.
LnP
%a1 seems content to just hold this position.;%a2 is taking this opportunity to rest.;%d2 is getting frustrated here.;0;0;10;7;LnP;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;
NoAction
These two fighters are showing eachother a ton of respect.
OneSided
%d1 is getting embarrassed here. %a2 just seems to be too much for him

How do these look?
Overhand right
%a1 loads up with a big right hand, looking to put %d2 to sleep.;I can't believe %a2 landed that!!! WHAT A BRUTAL KNOCKOUT! They're still trying to wake %d1 up.; %a1 really telegraphed that overhand right. %d1 easily moved out of danger.;0;5;1;2;Overhand right;0;0;0;0;6;2;0;

%a1 fires off a furious combination of punches.;3, 4, 5 punches landed!!! I'm not sure how %d1 is still on his feet!; %d2 just showed great elusiveness in avoiding those shots.;0;3;3;0;Punch combo;5;8;4;0;3;0;0;
Gogoplata
%d2 shows off his flexibility, setting up for a gogoplata.; %a1 is out cold. %ref pulls %d1 off. That is black-belt level jiu jitsu!!!; %a1 is able to avoid the choke. He will be much more cautious in %d1's guard now, though.;0;5;8;15;Gogoplata;0;0;0;0;8;0;0;
GNP
%a2 lets loose with a barrage of punches, elbows, and hammerfists.; %d1 is getting POUNDED! %ref threatens to stop the fight if %d2 doesn't defend himself.; %d2 is able to evade the shots, taking little damage.;0;2;7;13;GNP;5;5;6;0;3;0;0;

Those looks great. A thing must be fixed tough:
Quote: %a1 loads up with a big right hand, looking to put %d2 to sleep.;I can't believe %a2 landed that!!! WHAT A BRUTAL KNOCKOUT! They're still trying to wake %d1 up.; %a1 really telegraphed that overhand right. %d1 easily moved out of danger.;0;5;1;2;Overhand right;0;0;0;0;6;2;0;
The part in bold should not be in the comment as the fighter may not be out after the punch. When the sim detects a fighter out by a blow it will look for a comment (in standingKO.txt in this case).
Maybe something like:
Quote: %a1 loads up with a big right hand, looking to put %d2 to sleep.;I can't believe %a2 landed that!!! %d1 is knocked down after that furious punch!.; %a1 really telegraphed that overhand right. %d1 easily moved out of danger.;0;5;1;2;Overhand right;0;0;0;0;6;2;0;

Quote: Is it okay if a move has no countermoves listed?
Yes. If the attacking fighter fails there will not be any counter attack. This should be specially important when we want the fail comment be connected with the after move position as if there is no counter move the sim will go to the "final position fail".
By the way, great comments. I'll use it for the next version. Thank you http://www.hostingphpbb.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Does "GnP" also include the bottom fighter throwing strikes?
Edited to add: I recommend that submissions should have their Sub Prob modified.
From rear mount: 0
From full mount: -1
From side mount: -2
From any guard, top: -3
From guard, bottom: -1
Standing/flying sub: -1
If the sub is an unusual one to do from that position, subtract at least 1 from the Sub Prob. Example: A gogoplata from full mount could have a Sub Prob of -2 or -3.
Subs that target the head should have their Cut Prob reduced to the negative range.

Bottom fighter's strikes are under strikes from guard option.
Regarding submission modifiers, there are implicit modifiers in the sim, depending on the situation. Not exactly as yours, but the sim takes into account the position and modifies the submission probability.

I fixed a few comments I made earlier that weren't working well with the sim, they're all closed guard subs that should be replaced with the comments below, there was an issue where a fighter would be locked in a submission that wasn't applied yet, or implied by the commentary yet.
Triangle to Armbar (both)
Armbar to Triangle
ClosedGuardSub1
%a2 attempts a triangle from bottom! %d1 slips out. %a2 quickly turns his hips over and switches to the armbar! He's throwing everything at him.;%d1 tries to roll out but it's too deep and he taps! Awesome combination!;%d1 slips out and backs away to avoid danger.;14;2;11;14;Triangle to Armbar;2;1;0;0;0;0;3;

I have some questions and a few commentary to add:
My first question is, what is the difference between 1 and 2 of the same commentary group? For example, Suplex.txt and Suplex1.txt or StrikesFromGuard1.txt and StrikesFromGuard2.txt.
My second question is, do you need someone to go over the commentary and fix the spelling and grammatical errors? Like, would there be a way for me to go through all the .txt files, fix all the spelling, and then be able to get them to you for you to use? Or are you or someone else already planning to do that? I know you said English was not your first language and English is very tricky because of the slang.
I'm also wondering if this problem below is occurring because there is something wrong with my commentary, or if there is a problem with the sim's commentary output
This is the comment I made:
SlamOut.txt
%a1 tries to slam his way out of the hold!;%d1 is slammed hard to the canvass! The impact causes him to lose his grip;%d2 is too savvy and prevents himself from being lifted into the air.;9;0;0;0;Slam;1;1;0;1;1;2;0;
And this is what happened in the sim...
Quote: Mark Coleman tries to slam his way out of the hold!
Minotoro is too savvy and prevents himself from being lifted into the air.
That armbar from Antonio Rogerio Nogueira appears to be unbreakable
Mark Coleman is slammed hard to the canvass! The impact causes him to lose his grip
Winner is Antonio Rogerio Nogueira by Submission (armbar) at 1:44 Round 1
Here are some other comments I created:
Staggered.txt
That hurt him! %d1 is on rubbery legs!
%d1 got rocked! He needs to find a way to recover.
That stunned him! %d1 doing the chicken dance trying to regain his legs!
That stunned him! %d1 is doing the hula dance trying to regain his legs!

Numbers in comments files means a more poweful/skilled attacks. So punches3.txt are more powerfull atacks than punches2.txt and so on. The sim decides which use depending on fighters stats.
Having someone fixing the comments would be great. At this moment there is no way to see all the comments without opening all the txt files. I could do a comment maker modification to allow to open comments files, but some comments have special structure (like punches exchange) and those will need to be opened and change manually.
The slam out problem is something I will check out because it seems to be a sim problem.
And thanks for the comments! You are helping us a lot!

Thank you for the clarification. I understand now.
I don't mind opening the txt files one by one, I've actually already begun and it's not too hard or time consuming. I could probably fix all of the problems I know of in a day or two. I just wanted to make sure it would be possible for you to use them. Would you be able to overwrite your txt files with the ones I corrected?

CrowdBoo
The fans feel like they are watching a Floyd Mayweather fight. Here come the boos.
CrowdSlightlyBoo
This is starting to resemble a Floyd Mayweather fight. You can here the boos starting.
DangerousClinch

Not a terrible cut. The doctor checks it for precautionary reasons and allows the fight to continue.

DoctorStoppageCuts
The doctor calls off the fight! That cut is too severe for %a1 to continue on. He tries to protest but the fight is over.
%a1 does not look confident about the fight continuing. The doctor grimaces at the severity of the cut and waves the fight off!
I'm not sure this fight can continue with such a severe cut. The doctor wipes the blood away and lifts the towel to examine the gash. Blood oozes out of %a1's cut and that's enough for the doctor to call the fight off!
EndRound
%ref separates the fighters as the round concludes. The fighters shake hands as they head back to their corners.
EvenMatch
You have to give credit to the match-maker for putting on such an even fight.
The match-makers did a great job of pairing up these two evenly match warriors.
Exhausted
%a1 burned himself out. I don't think he has any gas left in the tank.
%a2 should have paced himself better. It looks like he burned himself out.
I think %a1 needs to learn how to pace himself better. His performance is suffering from his exhaustion.

I could be wrong but i don't think Ben Henderson is in the sim
http://www.sherdog.c...Henderson-20548
Also is it possible to have only the fighters in that org show up when you go to make a fight? like for example if i select the WEC & i go to set up say a FW fight then only the WEC Featherweights will be available & not every FW in the sim?
Also just another thing which i don't think will happen as it would take forever lol but any plans on adding in the fighters real life records rather than everyone being 0-0-0 ??

I don't know of any site (maybe Fightmetric?) that has measured this, but I think that more ground fighting happens inside the guard than outside it, measured by time. We might need more of the following:
a) ground move comments where the top fighter makes only a small improvement in position
B) comments where the bottom fighter recovers guard or improves his defensive position

Onlilife, thanks again for the comments. I will give you a couple of recommendations:
You're giving counter prob to those attacks but not determining what counter moves are availables.
Quote:
%a1 tries a Foot Sweep takedown on %d1 ;well done %d2 falls hard on the mat;%a1 fails to take him down and both fighter are still standing;9;4;0;0; Foot Sweep Takedown;0;0;0;1;1;2;1;
Not determining counter moves should be for the moves that have a fail comment that says something like this
"%a1 clumsily fails after throwing a big overhand"
You don't put counter moves in a comment like this because you want the fighter to fall and a counter move could cause some comment confussion. In this case you put both counter moves to None and put the final position fail to "Attacking on the ground".
Also 4 for Counter prob is a bit high. Counter prob should be high for sloppy attacks, risky moves or low skills moves.

ahh... thanks a lot, now i know where i was wrong, i thought the counter prob determine the success rate of the move, hence i modifies most of them.
for most of the stats i will just follow with Mr_Tricky's takedown
if all this is ok... then i will start to do the clinch knee and elbow, which i think most of them are already in the original comments.

Am I right to assume that the default position for all comments to begin is Standing. I'm looking to create a few ground n pound and general crazy scramble scripts but it seems that the comment maker doesn't include a positional beginning.
that would be a GOOD UPDATE. right at the top include a beginning position button and then we can go from there.
so what if I wanted to start a comment from an attacker having back control? or full mount? or does it even matter since we are posting them here? is loading them into the game an option?
some interesting comments I've seen in the game:
Punching from the guard or mount is very ineffective and should not lead to any significant damage/injurt to the attacker - saw a comment saying something like [a1 has d1 in full mount... d1 is landing hammer fist to the midsection and bruising a1 ribs...] Come on now! in Pro MMA the only thing to do from full mount is GET OUT of full mount.
Elbows from closed guard is a pretty innovative technique and kind of new. this could lead to cuts to a1, but could also lead to back of the head fouls too.
Oh yeah from rear mount with hooks. dropping elbows is pretty ineffective as they would often result in fouls. punching the side of the head and ribs should be the only striking options there.
I'll load up my comments soon

The beginning position depends on the file you will paste the comment you made. If you look into the comments folder you will see a punch files, kick files, GnP from Full guard files... Once you made the comment you can paste it into the file and they will be available for the sim (after reloading comments or closing/opening the sim).

I tend to agree with you. This is one of the purposes of this thread: Discuss about the comments we already have in the sim Smile
BTW Thank you very much for the comments.
