Slowgrow League 2
It's time for another Slowgrow League!
Build a 500 point army for MESBG and join the forces of Good or the forces of Evil as we battle for the fate of Middle-Earth! This league will feature a narrative element, with teams fighting for control of the different regions of Middle-Earth each month to secure bonuses for the victorious faction.
We'll add 100 points to our armies each month until we each have a 1000 point army for the final month.
Participants will be required to play at least one game per month, with prizes at the end of the league awarded for painting, sportsmanship and gaming prowess!
League start date: 1st July 2024

With the new edition of Age of Sigmar arriving soon, we're already busy working on exciting events to help everyone get involved.
We'll be starting our learn-to-play session on launch day!
Come down and have a go at Age of Sigmar using the two new Spearhead forces from the Skaventide box.

Play 6 games over 12 weeks!
Spearhead is the new small-scale game mode for Age of Sigmar. It's a great place to start if you're new to the game and a fantastic way to get lots of games in quickly while you learn the new system. All you need to play is a Spearhead or Vanguard box (there are two in the new Skaventide boxset!) and the cards & board from the Skaventide or Jade & Spear box (which will be available in-store for everyone to use).
The goal of the League is for new and existing players to learn to play the new edition, while meeting new people in a growing Age of Sigmar community. Games can be played at any time, but we'll be running regular sessions at Skirmish Club on Sunday afternoons.
Our League will start on 27th July and run for 12 weeks, culminating in a social event at Black Dragon Games where we'll play some multiplayer King of the Hill games, enter armies in our painting competition and award prizes!

Prizes will be awarded at the end-of-league social event on 20th October. If you can't join us at the social event then we'll hang on to any prizes that you win (you can even drop your army in beforehand for the painting competition if you want).

This league is open to players of all ages who can play Age of Sigmar independently, and we are excited about the prospect of junior players getting involved. A parent or guardian must Contact Us through our website to provide personal details (name & age) and consent for any under-16s who sign up to the league.
Looking to play some bigger games?
Our Slowgrow League will start after the Spearhead League has ended, and it's a great opportunity to expand your Spearhead army or start a new army.
We'll all start with a 1000 point army, which will grow to 2000 points over the course of 6 months. Each month everyone will play at least one game and add 200 points to their army. The League will start on 26th October.
This will be a slightly more competitive league, with prizes available at the end for the players with the most wins. We'll also be able to enter our armies in a competition at the end-of-league social, with prizes available for best-painted and best army theme.

Come and join us on Tuesday evenings from 7pm.
Light games: Looking for a bit more variety? These sessions will always start with a specific game (which will take 30-60 minutes), and then move on to some other light games for as long as you want to stay. Ideal for new players looking to learn some lighter games!
Low means that a game is quick and easy to learn - ideal if you're looking for something chilled out or accessible to younger players.
Medium games will take a little while to learn and will typically require significant planning throughout the game.
High complexity games will typically take much longer to learn and usually involve players planning several turns ahead while keeping track of a complex set of resources - recommended for experienced gamers.

We're also running a level 6 one-shot using pre-2024 content. Please generate a level 6 character from the Player's Handbook and Xanathar's Guide to Everything only. Please bring an additional printed copy of your character sheet to give to the DM.

Learning to play: This club is aimed at children who already know how to play Pokémon. Due to the large number of people attending this club it is not possible to teach new players here, but we do offer an Open House where you can learn to play!
Decks: Participants will require their own deck to take part in this club. We sell a range of decks from beginner decks to advanced decks.

Pokémon Club is intended as a space for children to play the Pokémon TCG. We ask that children do not bring games consoles to Pokémon Club, and that spaces are only booked for children who wish to participate in Pokémon TCG activities.
Trading is a core part of the Pokémon TCG hobby. Pokémon Club attendants are welcome to trade Pokémon cards in the final 30 minutes of Pokémon Club (excluding tournaments).
